How to keep cut flowers fresh?

Always start with a clean vase, add a small drop of chlorine to prevent bacteria. Cut flower food is not necessarily required.

If you have cut the stems just out of the garden you do not have to cut them off again. If the stems have already been dried down a bit, than cut at least 1 inch from the end of the stem at a 45-degree angle.

Flowers do not like trip, heat or fruit. Make sure tulips and daffodils are not placed near ripening fruit.  Fruit. Fruit spreads an ethylene gas and causes daffodils and tulips to flourish more quickly and then shortens its’ lifetime.

Also, tulips, dahlias and daffodils do not like a drafty place, and be careful not to place them in the sun or a hot spot.

If you really want to treat them and enjoy them as long as possible, fill the vase with fresh, cool water after 3-4 days.

They are just people!
